Vostro Lineup Redesign

The small business community has spoken, and we've listened. Less than a year after the launch of our Vostro line of laptops and desktops, we have made several enhancements based on customer feedback we received. IdeaStorm member liraco suggested that we add a 7200 RPM hard drive option to the Vostro 1500 about a month after the launch. And, back in October of last year, ojisan recommended that we make a more compact Vostro laptop. As of today we are offering a 13.3" Vostro laptop that weighs 20 percent less than the Vostro 1400 and the option to have a 7200 RPM hard drive in the lighter, redesigned 1510. Click here to read more about the lineup on the new SMB blog and keep up the great ideas!

Does this mean that the 1400 has been discontinued? If it does I will be upset, it was a good deal, on a great laptop. It was such a great deal, that I canceled an order on 2 Dell vostro 1500's last week so I could order 1400's instead, and now the price of the 1500 has slightly increased (by $19, granted, it does come with a better graphics card than before, but I don't need that, and I think that the majority of people in the market for a budget laptop don't either).

If the price of the 1500 were to decrease I don't think people would be complaining, but the fact is that the 1400 was a light laptop that promised good performance, for a price that wasn't going to break the bank.
