IdeaStorm Categories Clarified

The IdeaStorm community has asked for a clarification of the idea categories on the site, so here it goes. And remember, the more specific you are with categorizing your idea the easier it is for the rest of the community to find your idea -- and vote on it! In most cases, no more than three categories should be used to tag an idea to the appropriate topic area. Also, Dell uses the categories to help product managers identify and listen to the customer feedback for their respective product lines.

Here are some examples of what might fall into each category:

Why is the category list here shorter than the list on IdeaStorm? You've seem to have left out 2 categories. Also, shouldn't "clarification" mean to list what you expect in that category than just re-verberaging what already listed? Or do you think that thats enough? If so then why do you need to clarify? I see no clarification but do see a listing, as in dupe.

The list is a little shorter. Operating Systems is just one category, since Operating Systems – Multiboot is incorporated into the category description. Social Media is not listed because we think that those ideas are really part of Dell Community. Do you agree?

The clarification wasn’t meant to be an exhaustive list, but more like examples. If you think some descriptions should be added, let us know what they are. It might seem like a dupe to you, but this blog is for both new and veteran IdeaStorm users. Thanks for your feedback!

I can add them but not on a site not meant for that, back to the storm, lets hope we don't have to add Forum comments over in the Sales site.
