The energy-efficient OptiPlex 745 is our first Core 2 Duo-based corporate desktop, and it's also our first corporate system that we'll ship to customers with Dell's Energy Smart settings. What does this mean to IT administrators? Lower energy requirements for desktop users in your environments. To help corporate customers get a better handle on energy costs, Dell also launched an energy resource site that summarizes the energy-efficient features of the OptiPlex 745. It also features energy calculators to help esimate energy cost savings per box.
In this vlog, Jennifer Erickson from OptiPlex team discusses the new desktop and highlights enhanced security and management features that will come from a centralized management tool due next month called Dell Client Manager. We'll blog more about it soon.
